Religion and Faith

ERW understands how important faith is in the lives of many in the LGBT community. We also know that we have strong allies among people of faith. There are an increasing number of places of worship and communities of faith that are open and inclusive. More than 250 Washington clergy and religious leaders from numerous faith traditions have signed the Faith Statement in support of same-sex marriage. Fundamentalist religious traditions that are opposed to us grab a lot of attention. But they don’t represent all people of faith. ERW has partnered with the Religious Coalition for Equality (RCE) to help ensure that the voices of people of faith who are committed to equal rights are heard.
